Design Engineer
Responsibilities
• Designs, develops, and implements new and improved processes and conducts appropriate tests to evaluate the efficiency of processes.
• Oversees and assesses existing processes and workflows.
• Optimizes productivity by designing, implementing, and testing new chemical processes, procedures, and operations.
• Assembles reports to document process status and changes. Evaluates processes and equipment to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Troubleshoot problems with processes & implement changes as required and assist in the supervision of process and equipment operations. Assesses compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
• Tracks metrics to discover areas for improvement and monitor upgrades. Communicates findings and proposals to upper management.
• Provides thorough instructions for the successful implementation of process changes.
• Conducts risk assessments.
• Contributes to departmental efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed, particularly, work engagement during the commissioning stage of the project.
• Maintain accurate design files for reference purposes.
• Manage design projects within allotted timelines and budgets.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering
• Licensed Chemical Engineer
• At least 1-year experience as a design engineer
